Your files

Files you open with this tool are never transmitted. There is no upload endpoint on this site. Every byte is read, parsed and rewritten by JavaScript running inside your own browser, and the result is handed back to you as a local download.

This is not a policy commitment you have to take on trust — it is a property of how the tool is built, and you can check it. Open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network panel, and clean a file: no requests are made. Install the site and disconnect from the network: it still works.

We therefore have no file retention policy, because we never receive a file to retain.

Accounts

There are none. Nothing here asks for an email address, a name or a password.

Cookies

The only cookies this site sets are the ones Google Analytics uses to tell one visit from another (_ga and a related per-property cookie). They hold a randomly generated identifier, not your name, email or anything you typed. Your browser may also store the site locally so it works offline; that data lives on your device and is never read by us.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to see which pages people find useful. It records page views, the page you arrived from, and coarse details such as your country, browser and device type, and it assigns your browser a random identifier so repeat visits can be counted once. Google processes that data on our behalf and under its ownprivacy policy. You can opt out for every site with Google'sbrowser add-on, or by blocking the script — the tool works exactly the same either way.

What analytics never sees is your files. They are never sent anywhere, so there is nothing for an analytics provider to receive: no filename, no image, no EXIF field, no GPS coordinate.

Advertising

This site may display advertising to cover its costs. Ad networks set their own cookies and have their own policies, which we do not control. Ads are never placed inside the tool's workflow, and no information about your files is ever available to an advertiser — again, because that information never leaves your device.

Third parties

Analytics aside, the tool loads no third-party scripts, fonts or images at runtime. Fonts are served from this site. Map tiles are deliberately not loaded when a photo contains GPS coordinates, because requesting a tile would send those coordinates to a map server. If you want to see a location on a map, you click a link and make that choice yourself.

Your rights

Data protection law gives you the right to access, correct, export and delete the personal data a service holds about you. Those rights are all satisfied here by there being nothing to exercise them against: no account, no email address, no file, no identifier that could be tied back to you. A request to delete your data has nothing to act on.

If you believe that is wrong — that something on this site does identify you — write to us and say what it is. That is a bug, and it will be treated as one.

Children

The tool is general-purpose and is not directed at children. Since it collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from a child either.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Should the site ever begin collecting something it does not collect today, that would be stated here plainly and before the fact, not buried in a revision.
